Hmm....I think I'm about average. My readings okay, but I can listen ppl talking. I'm starting to learn mandarin though from watching taiwanese series (better than I thought) and its quite difficult because the characters usally talk too fast and I can't hear what they are saying. But I think that most areas in my chinese needds some polishing up.

Eventhough I've been to Canada for 5 years now and usually talk in english, I think my chinese is still pretty good, Can read write talk and type. Im real patriotic and want to stay close to my chinese roots.

my Chinese is average i'd say... but i can read and translate some parts of articles, and understand most of what people say in series and shows. i'm still learning Mandarin. it also helps to know Cantonese i think =)

I voted for understanding simple , but really that is about it. I know very very little, and only if I hear something enough and read it with subtitles will I remember it and know what it means later on. I know more Japanese than I do anything else.
