I grew up in Australia. So I never actually learned Chinese.
I can speak conversational Mandarin. I can understand slightly deeper Mandarin.
I can read very minimal amounts. I can't really write at all.

cos i can read, write, talk and almost anything.
and i got A for my test. LOLL!
but i onli noe how to write simpified chinese, not traditional chinese.
i wan to learn to write traditional since Taiwan only understand traditional chinese.

haha..i can speak/understand quite well but for reading/writing..okayokay only lah..i need a refresher course..reading is easier than writing coz i 4got the stokes for alot of words/..

My chinese is average i'd say.. Because i cant read or wirte chinese  , but i can speak it very well ... Lei hoe ma? Ngor ok la xxxx xxxxx xxxxxx xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxx er... sorry but i thought that is taiwanese or cantonese or some dialect? it's not chinese... >< |

chinese can be cantonese,hokkien,hakka,(all the dialects)

no, th dialects r nt chinese. they r diff languages. hmm... i study higher chi language from pri sch till nw, i'm still studying it larhs. but i dun like to read chi, i tink it's a bit confusing. but i cn read chi well.  hahas. i wonder hw i gt into hcl.x: |

I can NOT speak chinese at all ! I can understand some words tho. And I can read the words in pinyin. That's all. But I can write the word "Jia you" tho. Haha. xD Learnt it from Smiling pasta.
I live in Norway and Im originally from Vietnam , so I have no connection with chinese , but I really really really want to learn it tho ! Sometimes I feel so sad cuz I cant speak chinese , korean or japanese. Aww. What a pity. I want to learn it and understand everything so bad.
I only understands a few words and few sentences , but they're aint long ! xD I know how to say : Wo ai ni , Wo xi huan ni , Wo hen ni , Dui bu qi.... Well that's all I can remember. xD
EDIT : All I can do is learn it from the dramas I watch.
Btw. I voted the third alternative. xD

for me: can't understand, can't speak, can't write.....  So I vote for : Cannot understand at all. And what lunaliight said: Sometimes I feel so sad cuz I cant speak chinese , korean or japanese. -> The same for me! But i know some words in japanese... But chinese is too hard for me... |

ooh.. i can read traditional chinese, and can write some too cuz i learn japanese and some of the kanji are traditional chinese words... >-<
