WuZun Gave Ariel Weighing Scale, Reduce Weight
Ariel slept for less than 5 hours each day that she was in Guam for outdoor filming, yet her room remains neat and tidy. She must have rushed to tidy up to welcome the reporter's visit? Ariel laughingly said, "No, I clean up the room when I've nothing to do." Regardless of whether this "house-lady" (meaning akin to housewife but just a female, not a wife) is at home or overseas for filming, the most frequent thing that she does is to get on all fours on the floor to pick up hair with adhesive tape, and also to take her weight.
This month, Ariel flew to Tokyo for promoting the broadcast of ISWAK there before heading towards Guam for the sequel's outdoor shots. At the resort that she's at in Guam, there's a weighing scale lying at a corner of her room (see pic). She actually carries a bathroom scale, weighing more than 3kg, with her everywhere she goes. Its truly arduous for female stars just to look their best onscreen.
This weighing scale can read body fat, and is a gift from "Fitness Master" WuZun. To carry a weighing scale with you all the time is no doubt a concerted effort. However, Ariel seems to be far from looking slim. Laughing loudly, she said helplessly, "Yes, not useful". Ariel's body fat is in fact not high; her plumpness is mainly due to heavy water retention in her body frame.
"I only knew that I've sort of a mesomorphic body type after using this weighing scale." Apart from swimming, sticking up hair is also a routine exercise for Ariel. She loves to "try sticking" even when she stays in a hotel. Ariel said she felt a sense of achievement from using adhesive tape to pick up hair. More importantly, she gets uncomfortable whenever she sees hair.
Ariel excels in acting those playful, lovable roles. Yet in reality, she's very rational and mature. In her room, the manga of ISWAK, script and Guam's tourist/travel info. are on the study table. At the bedside cabinet lies a handphone and an in-flight English class magazine. Her diligence is instantly recognized. There were a couple of cry scenes these few days, and Ariel did not require additional time to build up her emotions for all the takes. She has long been immersed in XiangQin's role after endless flipping through the manga and script. As regards the English magazine, she has previously inputed its contents into i-Pod, and uses the half-hour of make-up time each day to study.
No side stories, not a trouble-maker, and very little interaction with media, even acting partner Joe openly said that he found it difficult to get close to Ariel in the past. Yet, every idol-drama with Ariel in the leading role was a hit (with audience), not based on creating news but real talent. "No. 1 elder sister" (akin to the most capable female actress), a title well-deserved.
Yesterday, in a rare display of excitement, Ariel said that she hopes to fall in love, and get married at 30. But as a "house-lady", no doubt the boyfriend will drop from the sky? Ariel had been listening very attentively and obviously, she heeded the things she heard. In ISWAK sequel, XiangQin started a new page in life after marriage. The Ariel today, has also arrived at a stage in life where she wishes for further emotional development.
