In the past, the annually held Golden Melody Awards (also hailed as the Taiwanese Grammies) has never had an award where the more popular artists gets an award. From now on the official website of the GMAs has held a poll for "Most Popular Voted Male, Female (Group) Artist Award." In the 20th of this month the poll would be narrowed down to the top 10, and then the winner will be announced on the night of the award ceremony - June 16th.

The "Most Popular voted Male, Female (Group) Artist Award" is currently in its first stage of voting, and they have scouted the nominees from Taiwan's five largest record labels, and also chose artists of the top 100 most selled albums list that started from 2006.
