I can speak:
German (mother tongue ^^)
English (fluently)
Russian (a little bit ^^ got no exercise)
Mandarin ^^

I can speak: English Spanish (3 years of learning) Japanese (enough to keep me alive if I ever left the country) Mandarin (words and phrases, not convos) I can understand but not speak Tagalog. I plan on going to the PI two summer from now though!  |

hokkien is a dialact lo.. just like cantonese. ((:
i know english, chinese, jap(BASICS!=.-), hokkien, minimal canto..
tru2urheart: taiwanese is sort-of hokkien already.. lols.

Unfortunately English is my only language.
Although I can swear/cuss in 7 languages.

wow! Some of u guys are IMPRESSIVE! U speak up to or more then 6 languages!!! Oh my gosh.. So far i havent met anyone like that yet... *faint* I can only speak English and Mandarin... That's really limited, but thank god i can speak both fluently... Tryin to learn Spanish though, but the progress... Dun even wanna mention....  I dun think dialects r included as languages, or r they? lolx.. But i do speak a couple of them... Like Hokkien (lucky thing tai yu and hokkien sounded alike), Cantonese and hakka (my dialect).... |

1) Vietnamese (born with it)
2) English (fluent, because I live in the country called America)
3) Spanish (still learning, I am only like 1st year on Spanish)
4) Mandarin (just a bit, not that much...but i sure can learn!!!)

I'm fluent in both English and Spanish in areas of speaking, reading, and writing, and of course listening. Because Spanish is one of the Romance Languages, I can kinda-sorta understand Italian, French, and Portuguese. Portuguese, to me, sounds like somebody speaking in Spanish with an odd accent. Romanian is also a Romance Language, but I've never heard it before, so I can't say if I would be able to understand it.
I used to have a roommate who spoke French and we could carry on a conversation with me speaking Spanish and her speaking French. It was pretty cool beans, if you ask me.
I don't know any Asian languages, but I can count to 10 in Mandarin and Korean, and I know a few words and phrases in Mandarin.
