Is Wu Zun Too "Man"? EEG Not Happy With Rumors
According to reports, around a week ago WU ZUN secretly went to Hong Kong to have a quick meeting with EEG's big boss YEUNG SAU SING (Albert Yeung). EEG likes Wu Zun's appearance and capability and was encouraging him to take part of the male lead for "The Fantastic Water Babes". The director of the film, LAU CHUN WEI also praised Wu Zun, saying that he is handsome and sunny and that he suits the lead role very well. The probablity of the two working together was very high.
Alex Fong Replaces Wu Zun
Unfortunately several days ago it was reported that because Wu Zun is "too buffed"; his physical appearance does not match with the role completely and it has caused his contract with EEG to rip. Another report revealed that Wu Zun's character is now replaced by FONG LIK SUN (Alex Fong). Alex Fong will then "continue" his relationship with his previous rumored girlfriend, CHUNG YAN TUNG (Gillian Chung), the female lead. "The Fantastic Water Babes" is a love story with swimming competitions as its main theme. Originally in the film Wu Zun would have many scenes where he would only wear briefs and his monster body and bright stare would be exposed to the camera. However their contract was never signed and his female fans will have no fate it seeing "Little Chunnie's" super buffed body. His debut in the Hong Kong cinema is also now blocked.
After hearing the rumors of why Wu Zun could not be the male lead, EEG PR Jeffrey explained that the officials of EEG are not happy with this report. One, EEG never announced that Wu Zun would be the male lead; and two, the male lead is a professional swimmer and having a good body is definitely a plus - how will they not accept Wu Zun if it is the case that Wu Zun's body is too buffed? Jeffrey said that EEG did talk with Wu Zun about the film, but Wu Zun said that his schedule is too full and therefore he has no time to film the movie. Hopefully they will be able to work together in the future. In fact, EEG never officially announced that Alex Fong would be the male lead.
Wu Zun's manager laughed at rumor. "If that is the case, what can we say?!" She insisted that after Wu Zun looked at the film script he had to refuse the offer because his schedule could not fit in the film. "Because of Wu Zun's full schedule we really can't accept the movie. We never promised in the first place so the information where Wu Zun's role was replaced is just a rumor."
